About
The One Tot Stop Day Care (TOTS) is a non-profit child care centre licensed by the Ministry of Education and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We have proudly provided high-quality child care services to families in the Massey area since 1994, expanding our services to include the Espanola area in 2007.
Today, we operate child care centres at S. Geiger School and St. Mary School in Massey, as well as A. B. Ellis School in Espanola.
Through play-based learning, we support each child’s growth in all areas of development, including physical, cognitive, social-emotional, language, and early literacy. Our programs help children build confidence, form friendships, and develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe and nurturing environment.
In 2026, The One Tot Stop Day Care will be closed for staff professional learning on February 6, April 24, August 31, and October 30.
Programs
Our programs encourage curiosity and creativity through developmentally appropriate activities. We value outdoor play and nature exploration as an important part of every child’s day. We support children in building autonomy by encouraging the practice of self-help skills and fostering problem solving abilities.
Our dedicated cooks have crafted a menu based on Canada’s Food Guide to ensure children enjoy balanced, nutritious meals every day. Children receive two freshly made snacks and a hot lunch, providing the energy they need to learn, play, and grow. We alternate between a Fall/Winter menu and a Spring/Summer menu.

Child Care Subsidy
The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board offers a Child Care Subsidy program to help families who qualify with the cost of child care. Eligibility is determined through a simple income test.
